Why not take advantage of this wonderful package deal:

The Ski:

Black Diamond's lightweight 95mm Carbon and wood cored skis, the Helio 95 Carbon, are a modern rocker tip touring ski which can do it all.

Weight:2.5 KG/Pair
Dimensions: 123/95/113mm
Radius 19m
Construction: Balsa Wood and Carbon Sandwich Sidewall

The Black Diamond Helio 95 Carbon weigh in at 2.5KG per pair which is super light  for a 95mm underfoot ski. Featuring a large tip rocker and slight tail rocker, the Helio 95 make for fun surfy and agile skiing in soft snow whilst still holding a reliable edge in icier conditions.

With ABS sidewall for power transmission and durability the Helio series can still take abuse despite the light weight.

Great in soft snow but able to hack it if conditions are not ideal, the Helio 95 are perfect for a European all round touring ski.

The Binding:

Dynafit ST Rotation 10

Lightweight Pin Bindings for ski touring with a modified toe piece to reduce pre release.
  • Weight: 1.2 kg (per pair)
  • Height from ski deck: 22mm
  • Boot Compatibility: Boots with Tech fittings only.
  • Adjustable release settings at heel only
  • Release values: 4 - 10
Dynafit's range of 'pin' or Tech bindings have defined lightweight ski touring bindings for years, the ST Rotation 10 is the descendant of the Radical 2 ST.

The release values start at 4 and go up to 10 making them suitable for most ski tourers.

Weighing in at 1.2 kilos for the pair they are considerably lighter than frame touring bindings. Based on the Radical ST 2, the ST Rotation 10 has a 'click' which keeps the rotating toe piece in the central position making it much easier to line up the heel pin fittings with the binding pins when stepping in.

Like it's predecessor, the Rotation 10 has a rotating plate below the toe piece which pivots as the boot twists in the binding, this allows the boot to rotate at the heel, within the heel piece's elastic range (some horizontal movement without reaching the release value) following big impacts without the toe piece pre releasing. This means that it should be no longer necessary to ski with the toe piece locked to skinning function to avoid unwanted release.

The Rotation 10 bindings have adjustable horizontal and vertical release at the heel.

The Dynafit ST Rotation 10 bindings have a low stand height making them feel stable and the pivot at the toe has a natural feel when skinning.

The Rotation series uses Dynafits Quick Step fittings which used in conjunction with a boot with Quick Step inserts make it easier to step in at the toe. With two flick over climbing positions on the heel piece its easier and quicker to change your heel height on varying terrain.

The Rotation 10 bindings feature brakes, this makes them easier and more practical for most users although the Rando racers out there will usually prefer the striped down models (look at the Superlite 2.0 12).

The current Rotation bindings don't have removable brakes so you can't easily swap to a different brake width if you change ski.

If you're an experienced skier looking for a lightweight binding for a ski touring set up the Dynafit Rotation 10 is a great choice.
