Silverpoint Ranger RC540 Head Torch.
The Silverpoint Ranger RC540 is a versatile rechargeable LED head torch designed for walking, camping, hiking and general outdoor use. Producing up to 540 lumens, it combines two XTE LEDs with a choice of clear white, warm white or combined white light, together with a dedicated red light, allowing you to adapt the lighting to different environments and activities.
The separate clear white and warm white LEDs each offer three brightness levels, so you can balance output and runtime to suit the task in hand. The clear white LED provides bright illumination for general outdoor use, while the warm white LED offers a softer, more comfortable light that's well suited to close-up tasks and use in poor weather. Combined white mode activates both LEDs together to deliver the maximum output of 540 lumens when you need the most light. Two red LEDs are also built in, helping preserve your natural night vision for reading maps, moving around camp or other situations where bright white light isn't required.
Dual push buttons make operation quick and intuitive. The power button cycles through the three brightness levels before switching the torch off, while the separate mode button changes between the available white colour temperatures. Pressing and holding the mode button switches directly between the white and red light modes, and the built-in memory function recalls the last-used lighting mode, including red mode, so the torch returns straight to your preferred setting the next time it's turned on. A 5-second instant-off function also allows the torch to be turned off without cycling through every brightness level.
Power is supplied by the included 1100 mAh lithium-ion rechargeable battery pack, which features a USB-C charging port built directly into the battery for convenient charging using the supplied USB-A to USB-C cable. A full charge takes approximately 3 hours. For added flexibility away from a charging source, the Ranger RC540 can also be powered by 3 x AAA alkaline batteries (not included), making it a dependable choice for longer trips and emergency use.
The adjustable hinge allows the light to be directed exactly where it's needed, while the comfortable elastic headband provides a secure fit during extended wear. Rated to IPX5, the Ranger RC540 is suitable for use in wet weather and everyday outdoor conditions.
